Non Sparking Pipe Cutter

Material :

Pahwa MetalTech strongly recommends the Non Sparking Pipe Cutter in QTi® (Copper Titanium), which provides the hardness, precision, and durability required for reliable performance in this application. QTi® meets all IS-4595, EN, and IS requirements for Zone 0, Zone 1, and Zone 2 hazardous areas. While BronAL® (Aluminium Bronze) variants may be available, the mechanical demands of this tool are optimally met by QTi®. Customers should consult Pahwa MetalTech for guidance on material selection based on their specific operating conditions and regulatory requirements.

Size and Range :

Pahwa MetalTech offers the Non Sparking Pipe Cutter in the following specifications: 1/4" to 1-1/8" pipe diameter capacity. The range covers the most common operational requirements for hazardous area maintenance. All sizes are manufactured to precise tolerances for reliable fit and performance. Custom sizes and configurations beyond the standard range are available on request for specific site requirements or OEM applications. Contact Pahwa MetalTech for custom configuration enquiries.

Applications :

Pahwa MetalTech's Non Sparking Pipe Cutter is used across critical hazardous industries. Oil and gas small-bore pipework, instrumentation tubing, petrochemical instrument line modifications, pharmaceutical classified area pipework, and Zone 0, 1, and 2 locations where copper, aluminium, or thin-wall stainless tubing must be cut cleanly without sparks. In all these applications, QTi® and BronAL® non-sparking alloys eliminate ignition risk from tool-to-surface contact, protecting personnel, equipment, and facilities. These tools help operations teams comply with OISD, PESO, IS-4595, and other international safety frameworks governing classified zones.

Do's

• Inspect the pipe cutter for damage, cracks, or deformation before each use in any hazardous area. • Confirm the tool is QTi® or BronAL® certified and suitable for the specific hazardous zone classification. • Select the correct size and type of tool for the task to ensure safe and effective operation. • Store in a designated non-sparking tool storage area, clearly separated from ferrous metal tools. • Wear appropriate PPE including gloves and eye protection during use in classified environments. • Keep the tool clean and free from oil, chemical deposits, and debris that could affect safe operation. • Return the tool to the non-sparking tool store immediately after use to prevent accidental substitution. • Follow all site-specific permit-to-work and hazardous area tool policies when deploying this tool.

Donts

• Do not use standard carbon steel tools as a substitute in any Zone 0, Zone 1, or Zone 2 classified area. • Do not use the pipe cutter beyond its rated capacity or in applications for which it is not designed. • Do not use the tool if it shows signs of damage, corrosion, or deformation — replace before returning to service. • Do not mix non-sparking tools with ferrous metal tools in the same kit or storage area at any time. • Do not use the tool near open flames, hot work, or active ignition sources in classified hazardous areas. • Do not modify, grind, or alter the tool without Pahwa MetalTech's authorisation, as this voids certification. • Do not expose the tool to incompatible strong acids or alkalis without confirming alloy compatibility. • Do not allow untrained personnel to use non-sparking tools in classified areas without proper safety training.
