Non Sparking Oil Pump by Pahwa MetalTech
Safe Manual Oil Transfer Pump for Hazardous Area Lubrication Work
Pahwa MetalTech's Non Sparking Oil Pump is precision-engineered for reliable, spark-free performance in the most demanding hazardous environments. Compliant with ATEX, EN, and IS standards, these tools eliminate ignition risk in oil and gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, mining, and explosives industries. Every tool is quality-inspected for dimensional accuracy, alloy integrity, and functional performance before delivery, ensuring Zone 0, Zone 1, and Zone 2 classified area compliance throughout service life.
Material :
Pahwa MetalTech's Non Sparking Oil Pump is available in two premium non-sparking alloys: QTi® (Copper Titanium) and BronAL® (Aluminium Bronze).
QTi® offers superior hardness and tensile strength for heavy-duty applications, with a longer service life than conventional beryllium copper.
BronAL® delivers excellent corrosion resistance, ideal for marine, chemical, and humid environments. Both alloys comply with ATEX, EN, and IS non-sparking tool certifications and are non-magnetic, ensuring safety in Zone 0, Zone 1, and Zone 2 classified areas. Material test reports and special certifications are available on request.
Size and Range :
Pahwa MetalTech offers the Non Sparking Oil Pump in the following specifications: One size, 1-1/8" pipe connection, manually operated.
The range covers the most common operational requirements for hazardous area maintenance.
All sizes are manufactured to precise tolerances for reliable fit and performance. Custom sizes and configurations beyond the standard range are available on request for specific site requirements or OEM applications. Contact Pahwa MetalTech for custom configuration enquiries.
Applications :
Pahwa MetalTech's Non Sparking Oil Pump is used across critical hazardous industries.
Petrochemical plants, oil refineries, marine engine rooms, mining equipment lubrication, offshore platform machinery, and classified areas where petroleum-based oils and lubricants must be pumped or transferred manually without electric motors or sparking equipment.
In all these applications, QTi® and BronAL® non-sparking alloys eliminate ignition risk from tool-to-surface contact, protecting personnel, equipment, and facilities. These tools help operations teams comply with OISD, PESO, ATEX, and other international safety frameworks governing classified zones.

Do's
- Prime the pump before first use and after any period of idle storage — dry starting strains the pump seals.
- Check the pump inlet pipe is fully submerged in the oil before each pumping stroke to prevent air entrainment.
- Use slow, controlled pump strokes rather than rapid pumping — slow strokes build consistent flow and reduce drip.
- Clean the pump barrel and discharge nozzle after use to prevent oil residue hardening inside the pump body.
- Confirm the pump discharge hose is fully secured to the equipment fill point before beginning pumping.
- Inspect the pump seal and piston for oil leakage around the plunger before each use in a classified area.
- Use the oil pump only with oils within the viscosity range the pump is designed for — high viscosity oils damage seals.
- Store the oil pump with the piston withdrawn to relieve seal compression and extend seal service life.
Donts
- Never use an electric oil pump in a classified zone — use only the manually operated non-sparking version.
- Do not use the oil pump to transfer fuels, solvents, or reactive chemicals — it is rated for petroleum oils only.
- Avoid pumping oils above 80°C — elevated temperature damages the pump seals and accelerates wear.
- Do not allow the pump to run dry for extended strokes — seal damage occurs within seconds of dry operation.
- Never leave the pump discharge nozzle inside the equipment filler neck during a pause — backpressure expels the nozzle.
- Do not use a bent or kinked discharge hose — the restriction causes pressure surge and hose failure.
- Avoid using an oil pump with visible external oil leakage around the barrel — this creates a fire hazard on hot surfaces.
- Do not use the pump handle as a carrying handle — the handle is a lever only and the joint is not designed for lifting loads.
